Hello! I'm Dhruvi Shah, a professional journalistI am grateful for having the opportunity of living in Calgary, which is situated on traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, the Tsuut'ina First Nation, the Îyârhe Nakoda First Nations and the Métis Nation of Alberta, in an area known as Moh-kín-stsis, Wîchîspa, and Guts'ists'i, respectively. I acknowledge and respect the Indigenous peoples who have lived on and cared for this land for millennia.
My degree in journalism from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology has given me expertise in communications, writing, photography and videography. I have gained couple years of volunteer experience and finished many assignments over my academic career.
I worked at SAIT on creating stories that matter to people for SAIT student publication, The Press. I also improved my abilities in story research, writing, editing, taking pictures and videos, and even designing quite a bit. I also focused on honing my professional journalistic communication abilities.
I have successfully completed my practicum as a digital marketing and communications associate at SAIT. I cover events, capture photos and write stories for social media platforms. I took pictures, wrote articles and covered events on social media. In order to improve the School of Business's online visibility and community involvement.
During Calgary Fashion Week, I volunteered as a social media coordinator for The Aquativitiy Project, assisting them with designing post and reel creation.
